I am a small hobby breeder located in Augusta, Georgia (USA) who has dedicated her life to preserving the natural beauty of the Shetland Sheepdog. I am an active member in the Shetland Sheepdog Club of Georgia and the American Shetland Sheepdog Association. I enjoy showing my shelties in AKC Conformation Dog Shows to attain their Conformation Championship titles (Ch).

Who We Are

I have always had a deep passion for animals. I saw my first sheltie when my aunt took me to my first Agility Trial in Perry, GA back in 2008 when I was 14 years old. It was love at first site. I remember my heart racing and the goosebumps I got when I saw the most beautiful dog I had ever laid eyes on in my entire life. Fast-forward a few years when I got my first sheltie at 20 years old studying Wildlife at the University of Georgia. I had finally saved up enough money from working all summer long and I wanted a companion I could play in AKC Agility with. I had spent months searching for shelties at local animal shelters and I also researched the local Shetland Sheepdog Rescue to no avail. As a college student living in an apartment, I did not have a fenced yard, a standard requirement for every sheltie rescue and most breeders. Call it serendipity but through some bizarre random connections I was put in contact with an amazing breeder near Atlanta, GA. As a young college student I never thought It would be possible for me to afford a pure bred sheltie, let alone have a breeders actually trust me enough to sell me a puppy! But as fate would have it, after visiting in person I passed the "test" and brought home the most beautiful puppy in the world, "Snow" UKC CH Starphire Lion In Winter. I fell madly in love with Snow and my passion was immediate for this amazing breed of dog. I began going to local AKC Conformation dog shows (something i did not realize existed until I got a beautiful dog from a reputable, preservation breeder) and I was hooked. I have dedicated my life to preserving this amazing breed that has my heart. I strive to produce health tested shelties with beautiful faces, correct structure, and the sweet, gentle, intelligent personalities that made me fall in love.

What Our Shelties Do

The people that get puppies from us become apart of the Winterfell family. Our puppies do everything from dog sports like Agility, Herding, Rally Obedience, Nose work/ Scent work, and Conformation, as well as Therapy dog accreditation.

The health of our shelties

Health problems, in general, are not common in Shelties; however, testing of breeding stock is a recommended practice to keep the incidence of certain problems as low as possible. It must be remembered that dogs are animals, not machines, and on average, every dog has 4 to 5 defective genes. Congenital and/or hereditary problems will occur no matter how conscientious a breeder is. Nonetheless, I strive to breed Shelties that are a combination of beautiful breed type and great health. I have dedicated my life to researching pedigrees and knowing the health and longevity of the shelties in my breeding program. My shelties are health tested at age appropriate times according to the recommendations set forth by the national breed club, The American Shetland Sheepdog Association (ASSA) and The Canine Health Information Center (CHIC) (a canine health database program jointly sponsored by the AKC/Canine Health Foundation (AKC/CHF) and the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA)).
